ImageOur meetings are not usually very solemn, but this one had all of us contemplating not just where we were when we heard the explosion of the Twin Towers but the effect of the tragedy on all first responders.

ImageJames Bodony (Chief of the Glen Ellyn Fire Department and retired Chief of the Oakbrook Fire Department with over forty years of service to local communities in the fire service) communicated his experience and heartfelt feelings following the largest loss of life tragedy from a foreign aggressor on our soil. It was an enlightening remembrance. It brought some of us to tears and many to a new respect for the cost of the valor that all firefighters and police line themselves up for when signing on the dotted line to daily put their lives on the line for each of us. Please remember they are the soldiers of the local community and their families are in much anguish every time the call goes out for them to join their comrades in the fight for our safety
