A couple of weeks ago our Glen Ellyn Rotary Club met at the Brookdale Senior Living Center hosted by Les and Mary Ann Sommers. They are residents of the center and Les has been a member of our club for 40 years,. He is a Past District 6440 Governor.

Carl Wells is a member of the Rotary Club of Wilmette Harbor, an Assistant District Gov and the District 6440 End Polio Now Chairperson. She spoke of the need to continue to support ending polio. The accomplishments of the previous decades and billions of dollars spent to ending polio and what a disaster it would be to quit now. She explained the different strains of polio and the applicable inoculations. Carol gave one of the most effective explanations of the strengths and weaknesses of the polio program and why we should support it.
