Meeting @ GOCC - Club Board meeting @ 10:30 and lunch @ 12:10 with District Governor Rick Rivkin

               Rick joined the Rotary Club of Northbrook in 1999 and has served as Club President (2009-2010), International Service Chair, and Webmaster. 

               Rick participated in the first District trip to Guatemala in 2007 and returned to Guatemala a few years later to work at Ak'Tenamit.  In 2012 Rick organized and led a team of Rotarians and guests to India to participate in the National Polio Immunization Days.  The following year, 2013, Rick organized and led a team of Rotarians and guests to Nigeria to participate in the National Polio Immunization Days. 

               In District leadership Rick has been an Assistant Governor serving the Arlington Heights Sunset, Park Ridge, and Winnetka-Northfield clubs.

               Rick is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (B.S.Ec) and Northwestern University (M.B.A.).  Professionally Rick is President and CEO of Saf-T-Gard International, a 4th generation family business based in Northbrook.  Saf-T-Gard is a global supplier of industrial safety products and personal protective equipment.  He has been a member of several Federal Government advisory committees of the United States Department of Commerce and the Office of the United States Trade Representative.  Within his industry and community, Rick has served as Past Chairman of the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Past President of the National Industrial Glove Distributors Association, and Past President of the Safety Equipment Distributors Association.  He also was inducted into the International Glove Association Hall of Fame in 2005. 

               Rick and Helen have been married since 1971, lived in Deerfield since 1973, and have three children, Loren (Jill), Jason (Danielle), and Michelle (John Kane), and four grand-children - Meredith and Jacob Rivkin and Jordyn and Patrick Kane.
