ROTARY SPOTLIGHT IS HERE!
Each month we will feature one of the many Glen Ellyn Rotary members that make such a difference in our communities. These are people that fill many roles in their day to day lives and apply Rotary values in everything they do. This month’s member is Tammy Lemke. Tammy is the type of person who gets things done and always has a smile on her face. Her compassion and commitment to do good in the world are contagious. We are lucky to have her as a member of our club.

When did you become a Rotarian?
I first became a Rotarian in 2003 – Joined the Champaign West Rotary in Champaign IL. Received the Newcomer Award in 2003-2004. Unfortunately, moved to Glen Ellyn in 2007 and left the Champaign Club.  After being appointed the B.R. Ryall YMCA CEO in 2015, Les Sommers asked me to attend the Glen Ellyn Rotary Club as his guest. My journey continues.

Why did you join Rotary?
I joined Rotary in 2003 to associate with a group of people who all wanted to make our community better. I rejoined in 2015 for the same reason.

What is your best Rotary memory?
My best memory so far is working the Pumpkin Flotilla last year. What fun! Enjoyed sharing the Rotary story with others and making memories with my fellow Rotarians.

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of Rotary?
What do I like to do? I enjoy the outdoors, decorating, and hanging with my family.

What is one fun fact about you that no one might know?
A fun fact?  I was voted Ms. Congeniality in the Miss Villa Grove Contest (high school).  Unfortunately, my arch nemesis won – so can’t get over that!
