One of us has Passed!

As many of you already know, our friend and a member of the
Glen Ellyn Rotary Club for close to 50 years,
Stuart (Stu) Stone, passed away yesterday, February 4, 2017, from a protracted illness.
Stu was the President of our club in the year 1974/75. Stu was a many times multiple "Paul Harris Fellow" contributor. He also honored many in his family with "Paul Harris Fellow" awards over his many years as a Glen Ellyn Rotarian. These awards provide needed financing for the Rotary projects around the world.
He was awarded the "Rotarian of the Year" in 2013/14 year.
Stu's presence was felt at all occasions he was at in service to our club and the local non-profit agencies of DuPage County. Stu provide levity, wit, and wisdom on regular basis. He was very active in the "Citrus Sale" and participating in our "Big Wheel Night" dinner and fundraiser. He was famous for his "Steak Fry's" and supplied prime meat, all the fix'ins, as well as the staff and cooking at a delicious price.
Without the co-operation he gave, many that we serve would have gone without. He will be missed. Life at the meetings will not be as interesting, that's for sure!
Visitation Thursday, February 9th, 4pm - 8pm and Friday, February 10th, 3pm - 9pm at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Funeral service Saturday, February 11th, 10am, at Parkview Community Church, 764 St. Charles Rd. Glen Ellyn. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn.
